Cosmetic Injectables - Botox

Botox is a type of neuromodulator, similar to Dysport, and Xeomin. They work to relax muscle contractions that are associated with the formation of dynamic lines.

Botox works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. Injected muscles can no longer contract to cause them to relax and causing the wrinkles to soften. Effects are temporary and generally last between three and four months, at which point wrinkles gradually reappear and can be retreated. With repeated treatments, lines and wrinkles may become less severe as the muscles become conditioned to relaxing.

Cosmetic Injectables - Fillers

As we age, our facial skin stretches and we lose subcutaneous fat making our smile lines more apparent and giving the appearance of tired droopiness. What can dermal fillers do?

Modern dermal fillers can help fill out facial contours with youthful volume, increase lip volume and shape, smooth out wrinkles and stimulate collagen production.

They restore your youthful features with a non-surgical treatment that is virtually pain-free.

One great example is the quick and popular “lunchtime lips” treatment. Our patients rave about the beautiful, natural results, how easy it is, and how long the effects last.

Hyaluronic Acid fillers are bio-identical to naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in human tissue. It occurs widely in the human body, from the skin to cartilage and even the body of the eye. These fillers integrate very well into our tissues to replace lost volume, support skin laxity and smooth individual lines. These products are known to stimulate collagen production and assist with skin remodelling and smoothing.

What can Dermal Fillers do for you?

  • Plump thin lips
  • Enhance shallow contours
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles

What is the difference between Botox and Filler?

Differences between Botox and Fillers :

Botox is a type of neuromodulator, similar to Dysport, and Xeomin. They work to relax muscle contractions that are associated with the formation of dynamic lines.

The filler is made of hyaluronic acid and can hold up to 1000x its weight in water. It is used to plump areas, and replace volume loss that comes with aging.

How soon will I see results?

Neuromodulators take about 3 days to start to work, with the maximum effect at 2 weeks. Filler you can see right away, with results continuing to improve over time.

How long does it last?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin last approx 3 -4 months. Filler can last between 6 – 18 months, depending on the type of product used and the area being treated.

Does it hurt?

Small pokes here and there, but generally, the procedure is very comfortable. Some clients even feel rested and relaxed after! We will offer you numbing cream, techniques to distract your sensory nerves, ice packs to numb the area prior to poking, and the best of all is that our injectors love to get to know you –  “talkesthesia”  will also help distract you!

Will I bruise or swell?

Bruising and swelling are always potential risks, but our team of highly trained injectors will do everything to minimize both. We have been told we have a very gentle touch! We also use techniques that tend to be less abrasive to the tissues – resulting in less swelling, and less bruising.
